Ep.39 Penny Locaso | Are You Or Do You Call Yourself An Expert?

Ep.39 Penny Locaso | Are You Or Do You Call Yourself An Expert?

Are you or do you identify as an expert?

In her recent research, Penny Locaso was curious about women, who were clearly experts in their field, struggling to identify as such. So, as a Behavioural Scientist, Penny went to the evidence to understand; What is it that makes someone an expert, and why are so few women prepared to identify as one?

What she found, was this misnomer in society – that experts were born. How can that be? Expertise is not something we are born with. This was the basis for Penny’s recently released whitepaper, Hidden Figures, which highlights; women of impact are made not born. The importance of this being, women can see, it is possible for them to become an expert.

This week’s episode of the Power Of Women podcast with Di Gillett and Penny Locaso, may just challenge you to own it – and a warning, Penny doesn’t hold back.
