Ep.14 Dr Desley Lodwick | Your Best Is Yet To Come: Let’s go

Today on the Power Of Women podcast, Di talks with the inimitable thought leader, Dr Desley Lodwick. The phrase that defines Desley and she lives by is, her best is yet to come. A powerful phrase, and as we age an unbelievably uplifting take on life. This episode is a deep dive into the complexities, chaos and change we face in our personal and professional lives and the importance of trust, respect and self-confidence. We discuss the reality that we are dealing with complexity much of the time within organisations at lower & lower levels, and interestingly, Desley has found people don’t understand the difference between complicated and complex. Historically our jobs were complicated, however nowadays they are not merely complicated but becoming increasingly more complex. There is always a solution for a complication, however it is the complexity that presents us with issues we simply cannot solve. This is true in our personal lives too. It’s not all bad news though when faced with this complexity, as we can make progress that steers us in the direction we want to go. We just have to be willing to change. Desley’s book, Ethically Deviant: An Unconventional Guide for Leaders to Supercharge Progress in Times of Complexity, Chaos & Change is due for release later this year. Great insights from another fabulous female I have had the privilege of talking with on the podcast.
